DAIWA BG reels are both very strong and have great retrieve power while remaining very pleasant to use. Their HardBodyz frame, made of aluminium, is very resistant to torsion thanks to the DigigearII gears which give them a great transmission power during the fight.
Designed specifically for use with braid, the ABS aluminum spool has been fitted with a central rubber ring that prevents the braid from slipping when under heavy tension. The BG reels also have an "unpainted" surface treatment which completely eliminates the risk of the paint chipping off, even with heavy use in the sea. The crank is firmly screwed into the reel's drive wheel for added strength - and to better withstand the high stresses of fishing.
