Developed by Des Shipp to catch F1s and commercial carp, the F1 has proved to be a revolution in modern fishmeal baits. It also proved highly effective with skimmers.

Since its release, it has been the bait of choice for many top anglers and has proved devastating in many matches on many different sites. By adding our unique blend of sweet attraction to a mix of fishmeal and crushed pellets, we've created a groundbait that starts catching right from the whistle and, thanks to a prolonged hold, ensures the fish stay in your swim.

Sonubaits led the way by being the first to introduce a sweet fishmeal groundbait designed for F1s and skimmers. The original and the best.

It's easy to mix, binds well with a method feeder and breaks down quickly, all thanks to the ingredients used. The fine particles of fishmeal create an inactive mixture when moistened, which is perfect for rapid decomposition of the feed around the hook. The bait can also be balled or used as a slop.

F1 Original bait is part of a wider range including hooks, granules, pastes and liquids, all of which can be used alone or in combination with other baits.

Des Shipp (English International) says: "If your match is going to be won with heavy skimmers and F1 on the rod, then I'll mix up a bag of F1 Groundbait as soon as I get to my station".

Mixing tips

F1 Groundbait is easy to mix. Empty the 2 kg bag of groundbait into a round mixing bucket, fill a 2-quart maggot tray with water, pour it over the groundbait and mix thoroughly, then leave to stand for 30 minutes, during which time the water will be absorbed by the groundbait. Then, for best results, to remove any lumps and create a homogeneous consistency, strain the groundbait through a sieve and it's ready to use.

When fishing, the sun and wind can dry out the groundbait a little. To avoid this, you can cover the mixed groundbait with a damp towel, or if it dries out, simply add a little more water and mix again.
