You can use these sinkers anywhere your rig is likely to move, such as in rivers, on sloping bottoms, or when fishing long distances.
We have calculated that you will get the same grip with a 1 oz (28 gr) grippa as with a 2 oz (56 gr) Swivel pear lead. This means you can use a smaller sinker, which is an advantage when fishing for barbel in rivers.
A lighter sinker also means less noise, so we like to use it to gently fish the slopes where a round sinker might roll to the bottom. The grippa has become very popular on the mainland for fishing rivers with strong currents or for dropping off at very long distances by boat on large lakes.
